His comments on true conversion and the chapter on “Hallmarks of True Discipleship” were great. A must read for any Christian who A hard-hitting and challenging read. Oh the awesome wonder of this gospel message that’s so ‘Hard to Believe’ He gives great insights to the importance of Sola Scripture, Self Denial, and what the signs of a real Christian look like. I finished this book with a true appreciation for all it means to be a follower of Christ. This book gave a really good foundation of the Gospel in light of the decision theology rampant in today’s church. Thanks for telling us about the problem. If more so called “Christian Books” were written as well as this one, there would be more people reading Christian literature and therefore more people understanding the costs of coming to Christ in a real and personal way.

After reading this, I’ve become a hyper dificill of the Gospel of Christ since then. He cuts to the chase, tells it like it is!!
A good book by a great author! However that’s not John’s focus here but I think it should be. I have been of the Arminian persuasion for 19 years MacArthur for another format. He made it abundantly clear that the true gospel message is macarthuur “hard to believe. Far too many in ministry are fabricating the Gospel to make it more appealing and “consumer-friendly” for outsiders.
None of the great intellects from Egypt, Greece, Rome, or Israel was among the apostles. Feb 03, Nolan Fox rated it it was amazing. I got it at The Sheppard’s Conference.

MacArthur in writing this book. I tend to give everything 5 stars of books I like its a bad habit I know. Reviewers should stick to reviewing the A much needed reminder for all us Christians. Great biblical argument against “easy believism” or a cross-less Gospel. Who knew that a book about the Christian essential concept of “What it means to be a Christian” could be so engaging and full of epiphanies?!

Highly recommend for anyone who thinks or believes he is a follower of Jesus. It nailed me hard with the law crer I read it and now I think maybe it swings too hard in that direction as the comfort of the Gospel was not as front and centre as it could have been.

Here I got my good impression on him. As a Christian, this book is a wake-up to how the Gospel of Jesus Christ has cree diluted and polluted by man and religion.
